Check your plan is on your phone and ready before you fly

A one-minute check the night before, while you're on Wi-Fi with time to fix anything. You're looking for an MTN Travel eSIM line that's on your phone and switched off, not a working connection; at home, that's what ready looks like.

Before you start

Where your SIM list is, by phone. iPhone: Settings > Cellular. Samsung: Settings > Connections > SIM manager. Other Android phones: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs.

Steps

  1. Sign in on the MTN Travel eSIM website and go to My plans. Your plan shows under your device.
  2. Open your SIM list, at the path above for your phone.
  3. Confirm an MTN Travel eSIM line is in the list. If it isn't, add the plan from your phone's settings with the QR code on your order page.
  4. Leave Data Roaming off for the MTN Travel eSIM line until you land. You'll turn it on then.
  5. Turn Data Roaming off for your home SIM, so it can't run up charges abroad.
  6. If your destination needs an APN (see your platform guide), set it now, on Wi-Fi.
