A sudden stop, rather than a slow fade, has four usual causes, and My plans on the MTN Travel eSIM website answers three of them in one look: the data is used up, the days have run out, or you've crossed into a country the plan doesn't cover. The fourth is your phone moving data back to your home SIM.
Sign in on the MTN Travel eSIM website and go to My plans. Check the plan's status, the data left, and the days left. Then check which country you're in against the plan.
A fixed plan stops at zero while the bars stay full. Select Top up in My plans and the new balance applies straight away, on the same eSIM. See Top up your plan: add data or days without a new eSIM. An unlimited plan doesn't stop; it slows after its daily allowance.
Validity counts from the moment you first connected, and the plan shows as expired in My plans. If the trip ran longer than the plan, top up with days where the plan allows it, or add a new plan for the same destination.
Common on land borders and cross-border trains. A country plan covers one country; a regional plan covers its list. Add a plan for the country you're in from My plans on the MTN Travel eSIM website, on any Wi-Fi; it goes onto the same eSIM. See Crossing into a border country your plan doesn't include.
Restarts and updates can do this, and iPhone's Allow Cellular Data Switching can do it on its own. Set data back to the MTN Travel eSIM line; see Phone reverting to the home SIM automatically.
Less common. If people around you have lost signal too, it's local infrastructure, not your plan. Give it time, or switch networks manually if another is available.
Still stopped with data and days remaining, in a covered country, on the right line? That's the one we need to look at from our side.
Still not working? Contact MTN Travel eSIM support and include four things: your ICCID, your order number, your phone model and OS version, and what you've already tried.
